Beaches Sandy Bay/ Beaches Negril |

Anyone stay @ either? Are they worth the $$$? Is it true stay @ 1, play @ both? If so, how close are they to eachother? I havent seen one post on either of these- any particular reason? Report as inappropriate |

We stayed at Beaches Negril last Feb. and we are leaving for that same resort in five days. When staying at either Beaches Negril or Beaches Sandy Bay, you may use the facilities of the other resort. There is a free shuttle that runs between BN and BSB. It runs several times each day and the schedule is posted at the entrance to both resorts. If I remember correctly, the ride is about 5-7 minutes. As far as being worth the money, if you are traveling with children they are great places. BN is very much geared toward children. It is a wonderful place with many activities going on at all times. We visited BSB, which is much smaller and quieter. If your children are very small this may be the place for you but, in all other cases, my preference would be BN. Report as inappropriate

JT69, I agree with SumGolf2's comments. My family and I have been to Beaches Negril twice and have had a fabulous time. We have not played at BSB because we prefer to spend some time visiting other parts of Jamaica rather than always being at the resort. You family will have an awesome vacation because your kids (if you have any) will be occupied with others which will give you some time off to do adult things. SumGolf2, have a wonderful and safe trip. Would you mind doing me a little favor? When you are at Beaches can you note how the beach and water has changed since hurricane Ivan and then let me know? I would like to know if the beach is as big as before which allowed me to tan away from others and if the water is still shallow, clear and warm. This would answer the one question I am trying to get an answer for since we will be going back soon. Thanks so much. Report as inappropriate

Mamasan, I am, also, interested in the beach condition since Ivan. I'll post about it when I return. We leave next Friday and return on the 22nd. Report as inappropriate

Sumgolf 2, Hi I'm a travel agent and have been to Jamaica (espeically Negril) several times and I know the area very well. We stay at a great little resort called Negril Gardens, but we go to BN or BSB at least once during our stay. When we were there in November (Thanksgiving) we went up to BN for the day to check out the new slide and lazy river. They hardly had any beach compared to what it usually is. I don't know if it's back to the "norm" by now. In my opinion the lazy river was a big let down. I thought it was going to be much bigger. You'll have a great time. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kelly Report as inappropriate
