Club Ambiance and General Jamaica questions

My party of 6 will be staying at Club Ambiance the week of November 6th. Can anyone recommend if we should pay for the private dinner? Also, my husband and I have passports, however the other 2 couples do not. Will this be a problem and what kind of documents are required without a passport?

Lastly, does anyone know if we need to plan on paying a fee to leave Jamaica, or if that is part of what was paid in the all-inclusive trip package? We want to be sure we have enough money when we leave in case we have to pay something.

Would appreciate any recommendations on things to do, or not to do, in Jamaica.

Hi Mo,

Passports aren't required, yet. They will be down the road. A birth certificate with raised seal will work. Married females need to bring marriage license and if they're divorced and changed their name they will need the divorce papers as well.

The departure tax you pay is not part of the hotel package but the air package. What airline are you flying? Most airlines include this in the price but some don't. If you're not sure then put back $20 each to make sure you have enough to get out.

Do a search for tours on here as there is a huge list of recommendations. The most highly recommended are Dunns River Falls in Ocho Rios and Luminous Lagoon in Falmouth. These are also about the cheapest things you can do, depending on whether you do on your own or with a tour. On your own they cost $15 each. The lagoon you do at night and it is really something to see.

For only $20 a person, the dinner is worth it. The lobster is great.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'll have to make sure and have the dinner!
