 Sandals & bad reviews?

I have heard so many different reviews about Sandals resorts. Some were really bad. My finace` and I are looking to get married in May 2005 and can't seem to decide between sandals resorts or couples. We are only having 4 guests to the wedding and they are getting a villa some where. If anyone has an opinion or an experience they would like to share please do! I hope all is well with everyone in Jamaica now, they are in my prayers.

Just getting married in Jamaica is a privelage. You will have a lot of fun being there.

Search this forum carefully. There are many reports on weddings and how lovely they turned out. Enjoy yourselves!

I can't speak for Couples, but we really enjoyed Sandals and have been there 3 times, and St Lucia LaToc once. It's "homiginized" Jamacia, but they really do a good job. Treat them with respect and they'll open up to you. If you go to Sandals Negril go for the Sundowner suite block. It's on the end oppisite of the "action" and right on the beach. If you drink and don't care for their brands, like Appleton Rum, ask for Barcardi and they'll put it in your room. The food is OK, not awesome. Having said all that from what I've read, people like Couples Swept Away better. I also read some great things about the Jamaican Inn. I hope it's still there after the 60 foot waves. Jamaican Inn sounds much more laid back than Sandals and is not an all-inclusive. If you go to Negril don't bother going off the premises to the town, except for a walk on the beach. The town is not worth going to. It sounds like Oches Rio has better off "compound" activities. I wouldn't recommend Sandals MoBay. Good luck!
