Where do I start to describe the most perfect vacation we ever had. In the exact words of my husband "the best vacation" he ever had. As to not make any post far too long I will post first on the villa then a separate post on each of the activities we did during the week.

Arrived at the airport went through Customs & Immigration really fast compared to last year it was a breeze. But I should of known the other shoe would drop. Getting our luggage was a total mess. For those of you that know the airport layout we were to get our bags at carousel 1 when we got there they told us no # 5 (in the new area) got to 5 they told us NO #1 they sent us back & fourth 5 times Honest - till we finally got our luggage on #1 by then i was hot and tired and did my share of exercise for a day. Walked out side and there was Eric waiting you us with the Carousel Villa sign. While he went to get the van a nice man at curb side ran and got us Red Stripes. Now after my first ice cold Red Stripe everything seems much better. The road to Runaway Bay was in very good shape compared to last year going to Ocho Rio. We made it there in good time. Eric stopped and picked us up a few more Stripes halfway then we also stopped on this great lookout where we took pictures & looked out over the ocean and relaxed.

When we arrived at the villa I could not believe the entire staff was waiting there to welcome us and help us get settled in. I should of realized right then I was going to be pampered beyond compare for the week and I was. We would laugh that out most import decisions of the day were should we do the pool or the beach and what we wanted to eat.

I often refer to my husband as "Mr Picky Pants" as he does not eat most things. He tried may different things which surprised me, and when we were having something he knew he did not like Millie would make him what ever he wanted. And he took to that like a kitten to cream, I told him not to get to accustom too it : ) Every morning was Oswald's fresh squeezed OJ, fresh fruit, ackee, then maybe banana pancakes or omelets, hash browns, the list goes on. I am not a bacon person but the bacon there was so good and i also fell in love with the butter, ketchup & Guava jelly they all tasted different than what we have at home. Dinners were things like jerk Chicken, wonderful fried fresh fish, fried chicken, shrimp in a garlic butter, roast with potatoes & carrots, curried goat, all fresh veggies & potatoes and desserts to die for fresh made lime pie, strawberry cheese cake, home cake with rum raisin ice cream. Okay enough about food. Okay just one more thing Oswald makes the best rum punch I tasted on the island. Okay maybe two more things, I mentioned i wanted to try breadfruit so Oswald climbed to the top of their breadfruit tree to pick me one for breakfast the next day.

The villa itself is very spacious and has a unique layout. All bedroom except for the master open to the pool. Imagine waking up walking out your door and stepping into a pristine pool. all bedrooms had very nice closet space. The master bedroom was large and the bath was bigger than my kitchen : ) It had a tub with shower and then a huge walk in shower that a family of 5 could of showered together in, it was that big. A huge walk in closet with a key lock safe the closet also locks if you would want but we felt no reason to lock the closet, the staff there is very honest and trustworthy. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with a hair dryer in it, and another bath near the pool with a basket with different sun products and lotions I think it is a tradition to leave something in the basket for when you return. As I understand most people do return once they stay there. I know we are planning to return next summer. At around 6 each night Angela would go in turn down our beds & start our air conditioner so the room would be comfortable for when we went to bed.

There is a night guard named Charles who is very good and friendly. We felt very safe under his watchful eye. John was the grounds man and was up every morning raking & grooming the grounds to keep the place picture perfect. Also John would run to the bank & store for you if you needed anything. We never had to do anything if we did not want to.

There is a satellite TV, tape deck with speakers around the pool, a table set with all kinds of games & books. We played dominos a few nights. It is decorated very tasteful in cheerful colors with paintings and carvings done by local artists.

When you tried of the pool you can hop on a golf cart provided by the villa and go down to the private beach. The beach was never crowded. Be prepared there is a rental fee for the beach chairs of 3.00 a chair. Also there is a little bar there Alfonso is the bar tender and is very friendly and a fun person to talk to. If you walk up the beach a little from their there are tents set up with local trades people selling their wares. Almost at the end is a wonderful carver named Blue more about him later. We & the other couple traveling with us had Blue do carvings for us. He is very talented.

It is very quiet, peacful & restful there. A great place when you want to totally relax. Which we did. WeI came home from vacation feeling rested not stressed and tried.

I am sure I will think of more once I hit send. If you have any questions please PM me I am willing to answer all. also here is a link to some pictures i have posted but hope to be adding more.

M&M... "Wow" you are making me blush... you are so kind to write so many nice words about the Carousel. Thank you :) Really mon, thanks... you, your friends Darcy, G-Bucky and of course your hubby, "Mr. Picky Pants" (Millie pronounced that Phonts... hehehehe) you are all really wonderful friends to have met.

I'm still in Paradise (don't be hatin' cause I'm still here) ... just down the street at some friends "begging" some computer time.

BBMOchie... thanks for stopping in and it was sooooooooooo nice to meet you too... I plan to take some time to stop in and see you at your place when I come back next trip.

Westie and SJones... yes!!! Soon come and feel it like home.

Mi friend Medicvet... you missed it girl!!! But I'll soon be green with envy when you are in Paradise for the month of August.

WR... when is your next trip?

2.5 more days until reality hits again... bye for now :)

It will be a lot sooner than August for me, Frosty hon..I will be in Negril from the 2nd to the 9th of July!!! WOOT!

:D

I will be staying the first three nights at Coral Seas Garden, then the next four nights at Coral Seas Cliffs. Got it for 'semi-AI' (all food but lobster/shrimp, and all drinks but top shelf) for only $80 a night thru NegrilOneStop!

Next time I go tho..would LOVE to see if I can go Carousel and take my kids along! :-)
