 Sunset Beach Gift Shop

We are going to SSB on November 27 and will only be there a couple of days. Of course we need to take some kind of gifts to those back home. In our literature from our travel agent it says there is a "shopping mall" at SSB. I haven't seen anything about there being any shopping at all there. Is there a gift shop/shopping area where one may pick up something small to take home. We will be there such a short time that I don't see any opportunity to go anywhere else to shop (besides, this trip is all about me and I don't want to leave my beach chair at the water's edge to do anything!). Any information that you may have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

There are some vendors that come to the hotel, but I'm not sure which days. I've also read that the airport has some nice shops and it's duty free!!!

Hello jlc, It is understandable that you want your time for yourself.

I hope that you get it. If for whatever reason, there are clouds in the sky one morning or one afternoon, and you feel like doing something different. Take a very short ten minute taxi ride into see the Montego Bay Crafts Market. There is an abundance of shops, stals all filled with realy nice arts and crafts. You will enjoy the bargining and have fun being outside the hotel. The Mo-Bay airport does have several gift stores with a great asortment of items. The prices will be higher even though it say Duty Free.

One particular shop that has nice quality goods is called Cool Runnings. This will help the Jamaican Olympic bobslead tems to meet theri expenses for the next upcomming games. Your gifts will help a good cause and also give joy to the friends and family receiving them. Buy the CD of this outstanding film, if you have never seen it.

A warm movie with a lot of jokes and a strong story at the end.

Stop by the City Centre Building...opp. the library on Fort Street. Just a reminder, most duty-free shops open at 10 a.m.

Is the City Centre by the cruise ship port? We were on a cruise several years ago and stopped in Jamaica. We didn't even get off the ship because DH was sick and he couldn't even leave the room. Now I do remember hearing someone say they had gone to City Centre shopping but didn't pay too much attention since we had already left port. Thank you for your suggestions. I certiainly appreciate them. We arrive in Jamaica on Saturday about noon and leave on Monday around 5 p.m. so you see our time there is very limited.

I just came back from the SSB. They did have a gift shop and a craft shop in the hotel. Vendors from the town markets were there about everyother day. Sunday, Tuesday I remember for sure. They had a lot of hand crafted gifts, t-shirts, jewlery, etc. We also bought duty free wines and spirits in the airport at departure.
