This February i've decided to visit Grenada. I'm trying to decide between Grand Anse Beach Resort, Flamboyant, Rex Grenadian and the Blue Horizon. I do not drive so I need to be able to walk to some decent restaurants. I don't mind taking taxis a few times. Also, I will be travelling solo. I will not be doing an all inclusive as I prefer to dine out most nights and would prefer maybe a kitchnette or at least a fridge in my room for wine and such. I will just be taking a few tours, maybe the boat over to Carriacou, but maybe I will just be chilling on the beach.
I am leaning towards the Flamboyant but i'm a little concerned about all those stairs and the fact that it isn't on the beach (I like to hear the ocean from my room). If anyone has stayed at the Pelican resort in St-Maarten, how does the climb compare? I stayed there in June of this year and I swear the constant climbing up and down to the beach really annoyed me.
Next choice might be Grand Anse Resort since it's right on the beach and I believe within walking distance to some good eats? But the rooms and reviews don't seem that great.
I hear that the Rex isn't really near anything? and I see that Blue Horizon which seems like a good place but it isn't on a beach either.
If anyone has stayed at the Pelican and can give me an idea between the climb there and that of Le Flamboyant that would be appreciated. Thanks!
