We are in Grenada for nine nights in January. Am thinking of five nights at the Coyaba (all inclusive) and four nights at the Blue Horizons (room only). Are we making a good choice? Haven't been before so would really welcome some of your thoughts!

Also does anyone know if you can fly directly from Grenada to Tobago. Liat have just informed me that they no longer fly that route (we're off to Tobago after Grenada). Many thanks in advance.

Love Grenada but would never do AI. There are a lot of great places to eat and the people of Grenada are lovely. Get out there and enjoy them. Stayed at Blue Horizons for two nights last year and liked it enough to go back for 9 ights this year. I can't imagine moving hotels in the middle of vacation but that's me. Take a tour with Mandoo for a great history lesson!

Pegoodle,

I too am also looking at the Coyaba, What sort of food do theese resturants offer, do they do the typical english food as well as the local and is there many day excursions that you can do?

Sunsation Tours does a number of different types of sailing, whale watching and snorkeling tours. I've never used them but will be looking into a tour when we're there this year. There's an operation doing river tubing that looks fun. Check grenadaexplorer.com for tips.

I'd probably more inclined to book entirely at Blue Horizons because of the kitchen facilities in the room. I like keeping fruits, bottled water and juice on hand in the fridge, plus it's great for bringing any leftovers home from a nice dinner out. And sometimes we enjoy making lazy, late breakfasts when on vacation, which BH is ideal for. PLus you get the 10% discount at Spice Island on their menu and you can use their beach.

In my opinion, walking to the beach isn't a big deal. But some folks like to have it right there, so if that's the case, choose Coyaba. But either way, I agree with Pegoode--I wouldn't book an all-inclusive plan.

It is not possible to fly direct to Tobago, you will need to fly to Trinidad and then catch the "Tobago Express" flight.

In reply to ejcrowe it is not Spice Islands beach, the beach is there for everyone to use there being no such thing as a private beach in Grenada
