 Rex room choice.

Can't decide whether to go for the more expensive beach front room or the seaview room. Is there really a big difference in terms of ' luxury ' or are you just paying for the location?

Planning to go for Christmas. Is the hotel likely to be fully booked - should I book now or wait for a deal nearer the time? Thanx in advance.

Can I tag a question onto this thread please?

Is a beachfront room suitable for 2 adults, 2 kids.? There seems to be mixed reports as to whether it is or not.

We are going to the Rex in 6 weeks. I've got a map of the hotel and grounds. I don't think there's much difference in the actual rooms, just the proximity to the beach. Looking at the map, some of the sea view rooms are pretty close anyway. We've booked seaview, as it's closer to the main building, but still close to the beach!

Did you find the map on-line?

The map wasn't online, I got it from the hotel manager. Let me know if you'd like me to email it to you.

We stayed at the Rex March 4-11 2007. We purchased Seaview room and were upgraded to Beachfront upon check-in. All buildings are 3 stories high. Seaview and Hillside rooms are high above the beach and oceanfront buildings, on a cliff. In other words, you have to climb about 3-4 stories of steps just to get to the Seaview buildings. Then if you are on 3rd floor, you've got another 3 stories to go. It's a real hike. In March, Rex had room upgrade special if staying 7+ days. I would check with Rex directly, but Beachfront is definitely the way to go...
