We just got back from this resort 2/17/05. The only tours we took were the Jeep safari and the bavaro splash -
Highly recommend the jeep tour. It's an all day tour of the dominican countryside with several stops including a sugar cane field, Dominican school etc. Your kids will appreciate what they have when they see the DR schools. The Jeep tour concludes with Horseback riding on the beach! I think we paid about $85 pp for this tour but it was well worth it!
We didnt do the ATV tour - heard some people say it was a blast however! You can book these things through your tour guide at the hotel.
As for the dress code on the beach, yup - no shoes, no shirt, no problem. Honestly though, most of the ladies were very discreet. Personally I was more freaked out by the old guys wearing speedos than the topless sunbathers. Actually some of these guys had bigger chests than the women. Ouch!
Have a great time!
