Punta Cana Newbie Question - Family All Inclusive

Hello all,

I apologize for the wide open question, but we are starting to look at possible vacation spots for our summer vacation and looking for some advice. The past few years we've stayed at Ibero's in Jamaica and Mexico. This year to change things up we're thinking of giving Punta Cana a try. We've enjoyed our stays at the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach and their Playa Paraiso Lindo, and would strongly consider going to one of their properties again, but we're keeping an open mind.

We're 2 adults with 9 yr old twins. Looking for a good beach, pool, drinks & food. We don't need dance club night life, but some evening entertainment is a plus. Looking at 7-9 nights stay in mid August 2013.

I don't mind them, but wife a kids prefer small to mid size resorts over MEGA resorts. Not super picky on food and drinks, but do like to have options. Basically like to wake up, eat breakfast, hit the beach, eat lunch, hit the pool, shower/clean up/nap, eat dinner then maybe see a show with a liberal sprinkling of drinks throughout the day.

Any tips or thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

Can you give a price range per person?

Also I am sure your 9 year old's would like a water park at the resort?

Thanks

A mid sized family resort Dreams palm beach would be a good starting point.

I would also recommend looking into Dreams Palm Beach. On the smaller side and very kid friendly. Plus the food is good!

Thanks everyone!

We've had some luck the past few years with kids stay and eat free with the Ibero's and have generally been falling in around the $4K (US) range.

Will definitely look into Dreams Palm Beach & Hard Rock.

Water park - not a must have, but certainly a bonus.

Again, thanks for all the help!

Riu Palace Bavaro....great E staff if your kids were looking to be entertained...the beach great. No trams...easily to navigate well laid out hotel and you can wander down to the Riu bambu or the Riu Palace Punta Cana if you need a little variety to your vacation.

Enjoy.
