No town similar to PDC, in Punta Cana, the grounds of all 4 Iberostars are adjacent to each other.

Been to both Iberostar Grand's and the lay out of the all the resorts is pretty much the same in Paraiso as it is in Bavaro.

But indeed, Punta Cana does not have much nearby that is anything like Playa del Carmen. The resorts in Punta Cana dont eveb have a shoppinh plaza like the one in Paraiso has.

Still Grand Bavaro is my favorite over Paraiso. The beach is much nicer and I love the bathroom. (but the bar at Paraiso is better than Bavaro though).

Sounds great thanks! Have been to playa del Carmen 9 times at the Riu Palace ...Wanting to try something different and had wondered how they compared.

You will love PC and the Grand in particular. They offer so much with all of the resorts within your reach. We have traveled outside the resort but it isn;t as commercialized at PDC thank God! Yet anyways........If you want to shop there is a line of shacks next to the Grand that offer souvenirs and such. There is also a mall inside the Iberostar property. This is not the same experience you get in PDC at Walmart.

Macao Surf Camp is awesome. Rafael will come pick you up at your hotel and you will enjoy surf lessons and he will return you to your hotel. Great time! My family loves it and visits every time we're there! You can look it up on Tripadvisor things to do section.
