I am stay at the Occidental Grand 12/10-12/13. any tips about Occidental Grand or area. This is my first trip to DR and out of the USA.
There are many off-site excursions you can purchase from the activity desk at the resort. Choose those that pique your interest, but in general, Punta Cana is more of a relaxing and low-key beach-type destination.
Thanks travel pro,I didn t know about a activity desk.
My daughter and I really enjoyed the trip that takes you to the local school, sugarcane farm, horseback riding on the beach and to a tobacco place. I don't remember who the company was thru but we really enjoyed ourselves. I think the tour buses have jungle type themes on the sides of them if that helps. It was a nice way to see more of the culture of the DR.
Very central resort for the Bavaro area, some tourist shops, bars just outside of the resort, tower casino 10 minute walk away, for a first time visitor you won't go far wrong with either the outback safari excursion or bavaro runners
Rebia,& Verita thank you for the info
Just outside your resort there is the Plaza Bavaro and the infamous Steve's Corner Bar, great spot to people watch in
You might even run into PC Mike, as he generally stops there after his tours.
