Majestic Elengence

we have stayed in Mayan Riveria at Barcelo Palace, Iberostarsm and Royal Suites Yucatan. We like adult only sections for better service, premiun booze and no reservations for al la carte. BUT-we like large resort with diifferent sections as we are a group of about 50 ranging in age 19-62. By staying at higher end proplerty we can use all services within complex's. So whats important to ud is good food, service, premiun booze, beach and pool bars. We have never been to Punta Cana and are wanting to go in April. Does Majestic Elegence sound like a good fit for us ? can anybody name a couple others resorts we should look into. we dont want to pay top dollar and stay at stuffy resorts. we like fun nightlife and pool bar service.

You need reservations for the Habachi and the french restaurants at the ME. The top shelf booze is like Absolute, Jack Daniels, Johnny Walker and brands of that nature.

I personally love the ME and would recommend it to anyone. Dont go into it expecting the world. Keep and open mind and you will love the place. I recommend the club section. I have been twice and am planning a third trip.

Good luck

within the large number of AI Resorts in PC I Rank the ME to the Top Crowd.

perfect?, not for every taste of course, for Mine, yes, but different people have different expectations.

for an AI Resort I rank the ME Service very good, the Food above the usual average, the Drink Variety/Brands is good for the rates they ask there.

People often get mistaken by the Tourop's ranking "5Stars" for an All Inclusive Resort and 'think' right away "real 5 Star Hotel Services and Amenities", but of course AI on one side and a 5 Star Hotel on the other side are 2 very different products, not comparable, and such shows of course also on the rates.

a Group of 50 Persons in the ME Club, a great thingy, Your Group will take over the Place for a week, go for it.

we will be back at the ME in September for our 5th visit in just 1 months, and May 2012 is also already sheduled for an other great Family and Friends May Meeting at the ME as every May.

Happy Travels

Haha. Yes Elegance would be an excellent choice for your group. Aside from one prolific basher of this resort most people who frequent this forum who have stayed at Elegance would have no problems recommending it to others.

MOST A/I's will give you lower grades of alcohol if you don't ask for a specific brand. MOST if not all A/I's in Punta Cana have both men and woman available if someone is looking for company later in the evenings.

Do be aware though that the swimup suites aren't suited for elderly or obese guests since a minimal amount of physical strength is required to hop out of the pool.

Yes, that is true. Every resort has good and bad reviews and it's all about free speech.

However, Catchinrayz

For someone who doesn't particularly like the Majestic Elegance, you certainly spend A LOT OF TIME commenting on the threads that are about the Elegance.

Just my observations (& contribution to free speech)...

Cat,

exactly my observation, too, ha ha.

Catchin,

if you reread my postings You may find out that I wrote that it will not suit Everyone, 'cause we all have different Tastes and Expectations, we are all very different Persons and set different Priorities in our Lifes/for our Vacations/on our Jobs etc.

that's why the different Opinions and Experiences are important for newly researching Visitors of the Isle to get the right Impression, so they can decide by Their Priorities/Tatses etc what would suit them best or not.

Privileges?

YES!!

we received over the Years quiet a bunch of privileges at a good number of resorts, for a Variety of Reasons, a lot of them are Biz Related Reasons, others due Friendships/Relations with Resort Management or Hotelowners, hence I do myself not write Reviews about Our numerous per Year stays at those properties, because our Experience there would not be of any objective help for a average Traveller.

but I guess You mean 'again' the Majestic Elegance which did completely fail to serve Your personal Expectations, here I say NO!!

we are at the ME as a Family and since last year even as a Group of Friends Returning Customers, Paying Customers, and Yes, as such we get returning Customers Perks such as a Bottle of Welcome Champagne on the Room upon arrival and this Year in May as a Group of Returning Customers(3 1/2 in the Crowd had their B-Day while we've been at the ME) we even got for a B-Day Celebration of all together a great Party, means the Resort prepared/decorated at the Steakhouse a long Table to sit us all together, very nice decorated btw/thank You ME, in the backside Area of the restaurant which would have anyways be included for each of us in our prepaid Vacation package.

we also get since the first Visit shortly after the Resort opening Daily Downturn Services on the Suite and when ever we wish we get the Jacuzzi prepared while we are out for Dinner, but I do not count that as some kind of Perks but blame it more on Our always Nice and friendly Relation with the Roommaid who of course apreciates a appropriate Tip for Her IMHO Outstanding Job perfectly done, something I enjoyed around the Globe at AI's and Non AI's simply due a Attitude/Behavior appreciated by the Hotel Staff in charge of my Rooms.

sad to see that Your only "boring Time Killing Occupation" on TA is to search for Postings about the ME to show Your jellousy about things which happen to Many Many others but obviously never to You.

I really wish You to find the right way to communicate with Resort Staff in a way which will produce satisfaction on Your Future Travels,

I am really sure there is a Hotel Out there which can satisfy Your Expectations, I am almost sure, but what do I know.

Happy Sunny Travels everyone,

where ever Your choosen Destin may be.

and always be Polite,

because Then Life is Goood, even on Vaca and when it Rains down on ya.

I stayed at the Majestic Elegance and would have no problem at all recommending it (read my review for all the details). We really liked that you only needed reservations for 2 of the restaurants and the staff were really great at this resort. There is some nightlife ie. disco, casino, nightly shows but it's not a hugely active resort at night (at least not when we were there). But with the disco and casino etc and your group of 50 you can make your own fun. You might want to take a look at the Iberostar Grand and Hard Rock as well.......happy choosing :-)

We were at the ME Club section last winter and although we had some problems we realise that no resort will be perfect. We would recommend no problem to the right people but for those looking for a true Adult's Only I would not recommend it. But as long as people realise that it is not really a true AO resort or even section since for any meal you do have to go to the other section they should be fine. It's all about expectations.

As with Catchinrayz - they had expectations of what a swim-up suite was and those at the ME did not meet their expectations. We ourselves while there would often look over at them while at the pool area and wondered what was so special about them. Maybe they should be called pool access rooms instead of swim-up rooms. In fact while we were there most people with those rooms did not spend time on the bali beds by their deck but came and used the others.

That being all said we are even looking at returning this winter for another 2 weeks. For us there were many more pluses than minuses.
