Ok to bring portable DVD players, laptop, video stuff?

We have some things we want to give for Xmas to our kids and also bring our video camera, etc. Will there be a problem coming into the airport, customs with this stuff? Thanks for info.

When we went to Punta Cana last year we travelled with my hubbie's laptop, his cellphone, our camcorder, our digital camera, 2 gameboys, a portable cd player and a partridge in a pear tree, lol! We didn't have any problem whatsoever...although they did ask us to turn on the laptop at the airport in Toronto...no biggie!

If you are talking Christmas gifts for the kids, make sure that you don't wrap them, put them in gift bags instead so that customs can see what's in them otherwise they may unwrap them.

Have fun...we're not going until February...it feels so far away!

We too were asked when travelling to Mexico last year to turn on our CD players, camera and video camera. As long as you can turn them on in front of them we had no problem.

Do the rooms at the resort hotels have internet hookup? The only reason we would take our laptop would be to check email and upload our pictures and send to family and friends (or would that make them jealous? hmmm). We're staying at the Bavaro Princess.
