We are dealing with the same problems. There's a group of us who are supposed to go to Riu Bambu and Riu Palace in Punta Cana. We are still waiting to hear back from them and we are supposed to leave this Friday. We were told that we could cancel and get a refund, postpone or book a different destination, as available options. We chose to cancel and get a refund at this time. But now we have not heard back from the travel agent and Sunquest was no help to us either.
We are left hanging. I can't believe that with so many people still coming back sick - from the RIU's - they still won't acknowledge the problem and not danger our health and lives!
Were you offered a cancellation and full refund? This is what Sunquest offered when Health Canada issued the warning and there was an article in the Toronto Star about almost 20 people returning from Punta Cana and the spreading sickness/virus on the Skyservice flights. Please let us know and my advice is that if you have a choice, do not go to Dominican Republic, at this time. Pick another vacation spot or cancel all together.
