Going fun tropicale 30th Jan.

Read various reviews, latest one really gives the hotel a bad review.

Difficult to read between the lines, it seems it really is each person's own expectations and experiences that make any holiday worth while.

My wife and two kids (boys 2yrs & 5 yrs) are going there for the first time and to be honest haven't paid that much for two weeks AI, a lot less than Cancun, which we were originally heading.

For the money I have paid, I expect a basic clean room, clean bed linen, clean pools, reasonable quality & variety of food, decent lager/beer and hot weather.

Hope this place meets these simple expectations.

I've only stayed on the Tropicale side, so I don't know what the rooms are like on the Royale side.

There is the main buffet and 2 specialty restaurants-Italian and Brazilian. You have to get up really early to make reservations in the Italian and Brazilian.

Poolside activities: if you hang out by the main pool the activities guys will try to get you up all day long to play different games (ping pong, darts, volleyball, water aerobics).

I personally love this hotel and we always have a blast.
