Some more info.....

We are a couple in our 30's looking for some sun and relaxation something romantic as we are both pretty busy and don't get to spend too much time together. Not too many children either, as we are travelling alone kids at home. Also a bit of exercise ie Bike rides, walks, both keen cyclist and we are told Cuba is very bike friendly?

Our main concern about choosing hotels has been food, and a good standard of hotels. We both travel for work so do have a certain expectation when they class the hotels as 5*. From the forums etc., The Paradisus and the Iberostar in Varadero seemed popular and we liked the Paradisus in Guardalavaca and the area of Holguin looked beautiful.

We are also looking at 3 nights in Havana, although Santiago is nearer to the Holguin area would you suggest one over the other? We want to experience the old cuba especially the music.

Anyone have any ideas??

Hi Dizzy. The Paradisus Rio de Oro in Guardalavaca is probably the best hotel in Cuba, 5* all the way, you will not be dissapointed at all and the food is of a very good standard, also very few children at this resort :0))) Read the reviews and I don't think you will find anything bad !!

You can get free bikes from the PRDO and explore the beautiful local countryside and villages, even get a horse & buggy to take you out and about.

There are excursions offered from the PRDO to go to both Santiago and to Havana, if you would like to post your email address I can send you information and prices on these trips.

Hi

Thankyou for your reply.

Think it has to be the Paradisus Rio de Oro I have to say I was leaning that way. Would be great if you could e mail me some prices for excursions, but slighty concerned about putting e mail on forum?? Already get spam spam spam!

I have a few questions about Havana thought I would add as knew topic. Thanks again for your advice.
