I can only assume these people were unlucky. When we were there, we experienced nothing but a perfect holiday and the food was outstanding. I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma last Christmas so as you can imagine, I have to be very careful. I experienced to illness whatsoever.

My husband and I have just returned from Paradisus Rio de Oro yesterday after a two week stay. What an excellent holiday! Buffet food was very good (especially the steak, king prawns and banana flambes), we tried all a la carte restaurants apart from the Cuban and again everything was excellent. Food at the pool and beach restaurants was good too, especially the pizzas at the pool. You will not go hungry.

The staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you. The Cuban people are wonderful.

We never heard anyone complaining whilst we were there. Yes it is hot and humid. Yes there are crabs wandering around and birds and ants too, we actually saw ONE cockroach too but it is the caribbean after all.

Go with an open mind, don't worry about the bad reviews and ENJOY!!

My husband and I have been to the Paradisus twice. We had an absolutely fantastic time. It is not rated a five star for nothing. Food was great, service unbelievable and beautiful weather. Do not change hotels - you will not be disappointed.
