Vacation in Bermuda 2nd week of November 2010

1. I am searching for a reasonable hotel in/around Hamilton City but get confused the more I search. I am travelling alone Nov 6 - 14. Any suggestions about comfortable economical one bed accomodation?

2. Any chances for a walk-in accomodation? Like without prior reservatins.

3. Are there any public means of transport from airport to either Hamilton or St Seorge's?

4. Any other information for a budget traveller will be helpful.

5. I reside in Washington DC.

If you have luggage then you will need to take a taxi, easily available outside the terminal. What do you mean by economical, more helpful if you give us a price range. Wouldn't advise turning up without accommodation, you will probably be asked where you are staying.

Sorry...can't help with any sort of '..spare bedroom for rent..' guest accommodation but for modestly priced '..single..' accommodations, in or around downtown Hamilton, check out--

SALT KETTLE GUEST HOUSE...located directly across Hamilton Harbour--

tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g147259-d147921…

GREENBANK GUESTHOUSE & COTTAGES--located directly across Hamilton Harbour on the Salt Kettle promontory...they offer a couple/few rooms in the main house as a B&B--

KINGSTON HOUSE--located approx. 100 yards in from Pitt's Bay Rd.approx. 1/2 mile walk (no bus service out to here) from downtown Hamilton--

If you are a member of a yacht club with reciprocal rights, you might try contacting the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club with an 'introduction' from your home club, about one of the two rooms available at the RBYC--

ROYAL BERMUDA YACHT CLUB--

I'm pretty sure that you must have both a return air ticket and a confirmed guest accommodation reservation to '..enter..' Bermuda as a tourist. As most guesthouses and B&B are small establishments, I wouldn't be inclined to try arriving and then finding, '..a room at the inn..'...even if traveling with a pregnant virgin on a donkey in December.

>>>3. Are there any public means of transport from airport to either Hamilton or St Seorge's?<<<

There is public bus service from the airport...but the '..catch..' is that you may not board a public bus with '..lugggage...'. There is a private, shared-shuttle service available that runs $10 per person to downtown Hamilton locations-

CEO TRANSPORT--

>>>4. Any other information for a budget traveller will be helpful<<<

Take some time to do some personal research on your destination by scrolling back through the archived TOPIC 'threads' of this Bermuda forum.

>>>5. I reside in Washington DC<<<

That's nice. Do you know the Obama family??...nice people...big, white house on Pennsylvania between 15th & 17th ??...lots of people standing around the property with 'ear-buds', big guns and no discernable sense of humor??
