Headed to Bermuda next week and the weather...

looks awful! Forecast says rain almost every day! For those of you who live there - is this like in florida where it just rains a few hours and is beautiful all the rest of the day or do you think its going to be a wash out :(

When you go to the radar maps under IMAGERY (full size infrared for example), I certainly would like to see that big red mass go away!

I live here. It depends; sometimes it might rain and the sun pops right back out, or the rain could possibly set in, you just never know.

However, I wouldn't put too much into what the weather says. Very often it's completely wrong. Many times they might forecast certain rain for a couple of days straight, and the weather ends up being perfect.

It is very hard to predict weather here since we're so small and in the middle of the Atlantic.

Let's hope for your sake you get some sun!

Hi

We're headin there next week to. We picked Bermuda because it's relatively out of the hurricane track. I hope it's not a wash out after spending all this money vacations don' t come around every month!

Good Luck

Out of the hurricane track? There are no active storms, but we are right in the middle of what they call 'Hurricane Alley'.

The gulf stream steers many storms between the US East Coast and us.

So we are constantly monitoring storms in the Atlantic Basin. However, it is relatively rare that we are hit. Tourists are often frightened to come here if a storm is within 1,000 miles of us, but it happens all the time.

Most of the time it steers clear of us; it takes a lot of favorable conditions for storms to hit us since we're so small. Obviously it happens but I'm just saying, many more times we avoid them.

Worst case scenario that they do hit us, like Florence happened to in September......Bermuda can stand up to storms better than any other place on the planet I know of.
