Back from Coco Reef |
|
We're back......from beautiful Bermuda and Coco Reef! I tried twice now to post a thorough review on this site, but lost it both times!!!! I just wanted to let Josula know that we were very happy with our stay at Coco Reef! The view from our balcony was incredible! I felt that the grounds and hotel were maintained very well. Breakfast was the same daily, but NOT boring. There is plenty to choose from to make a different breakfast meal each time. We ate dinner there one night and really enjoyed it! The beach area in front of Coco Reef is just terrific ! If you or anyone has any specific questions, please let me know. Otherwise, when trip advisors gets back to me on how to submit a review without losing it AGAIN, I will give more detailed info. and photos later. There is much I'd like to share with you. |

I am SO happy to hear you had a wonderful time! I was thinking about you! How can you miss on that beach, my favorite! I have been checking Coco Reef to see if you had posted a review. I will keep checking. So did you eat anywhere else memorable? I won't ask any more questions, I will wait for your review.

We had our best dinner at Coconuts at The Reefs. We ate at Port O'Call one night and that was pretty good. We happened upon The Whaler's Inn on the Southampton Princess Beach by accident when escaping from the Horseshoe Bay Beach Party ( not a good choice) and really enjoyed that! Unfortunately, we didn't make it to Aqua which I heard other tourists rave about. Hopefully we can return to Bermuda one day and get to try that and Fourways which I heard was excellent as well. Enjoy!

hi, just read your review on coco reef. i am planning to stay there in october. was your room listed as deluxe oceanview or beachfront? i hope to get a room with a balcony. what was your room number? thanks so much. drdsm
|
hi again. i meant to ask was your room listed as oceanfront or as oceanview? thanks again drdsm
|
We stayed in Room 313 which is a deluxe ocean view. The ocean front building(s) are great, I'm sure, but it was more convenient to be up closer to the main building as far as we were concerned. I hope to post my review with photos soon. You will see that the views are beautiful from our balcony! Have a great time!!

Glad to hear that your stay at Coco Reef was enjoyable. We are going the first weekend in August and cannot wait. We are staying at Coco Reef and also have dinner reservations at Coconuts! Can't wait to read your hotel review when you get it posted. Thanks for the information.

I am soo glad everything went well for you at Coco Reef. My wife and I will be leaving on Sunday. Did you use any travel guide / taxi driver that took you around the island? If so can you recommend anyone. We appreciate it if anyone else can recommend someone who is pretty knowledgeable for a good tour around the island. As always, thanks!
|
Dear Highroller, We didn't use a taxi guide to tour the island. It's a great idea though. The bus system afforded us the opportunity to see certain parts of Bermuda, but to be honest, we didn't get to St. George because we chose to do other things. I believe if you take a bus ride to the Dockyard and from there take the Ferry to St. George, you will be able to see the eastern and western sides of Bermuda. I am sure one of the Trip Advisor regulars here could give you more information than I. I have submitted a full review of Coco Reef and it should be posted in a few days they tell me. Have a wonderful time! My screen name should now be : Cannot Wait To Go BACK!

This is so timely. I leave next Tuesday and am looking forward to my first time in Bermuda staying at Coco Reef. The first night I will be celebrating my wedding anniversary and do not want to travel too far from the hotel. Any suggestions on where to eat other than Elbow Beach? I say not there because I have reservations at the Lido several nights into the vacation and don't want to eat 2 nights at the same establishment.
|
If you are celebrating an anniversary, I would recommend dinner at Coconuts at The Reefs - they even do dinner ON the beach for an extra charge if you so choose. The Reefs was about a 15 minute ride by bus if even that. I heard Aqua at Ariel Sands was also very nice and that would also be about a 15 -20 minute ride. You won't find anything to walk to for dinner from Coco Reef except for The Paraquet which is like a diner on South Shore Road. Bermuda just isn't laid out that way. But you will see that the bus system can get you anywhere you need to go. Depending on what time you arrive on your first day, you might opt to hang out on the beach and eat dinner right at Coco Reef. We enjoyed that our first night there. Have a wonderful time! Once you get the transportation thing down, you will feel more comfortable with the feel of where things are in Bermuda.
