Once again, the beach at The Reefs is superb. Groomed each morning, lounges, umbrellas, tables provided. You may also borrow snorkeling equipment, kayaks and 'noodles' for floating.
It is very private, a great location and one of the premier swimming areas in Bermuda.
The Reefs has it all.
The Reefs may have the best 'private' beach of any hotel on Bermuda...and will be relatively uncrowded. I can't think of any time that we have stopped there for lunch at Coconuts that I've ever seen more than two dozen guests on it at any one time. The beach is well protected by broken reef and large 'boilers' just offshore, so that it usually gets only light-to-moderate surf (under most conditions) and the broken reef and 'boilers' make it a great beach for snorkeling (snorkeling equipment, as well as some 'water toys', lounge chairs and umbrellas are available from the beach staff). COCONUTS restaurant is located on the covered deck, a few steps above the beach for lunch and drinks.
But as good as the beach is at The Reefs, the best beaches on Bermuda are the public beaches, located just a mile or so east along the South Road at SOUTH SHORE, along the strech from Horseshoe Bay to Warwick Long Bay. This stretch of rocky-crenellated shoreline is dotted with several smaller, semi-secluded/semi-private littele beaches that you can have pretty much to yourselves for the day. Heading a short distance in the other direction (west) along the South Road is CHURCH BAY, which is probably the best spot to snorkel from the beach on Bermuda. These semi-secluded public beaches take a bit of effort to get to---but you will be more than amply rewarded with having your own 'private' Bermuda beach to enjoy for most of the day.
As for possible wedding locations at The Reefs there are a few great spots on it's grounds for a ceremony--on Ocean Echo Terrace, atop the cliff above its beach, with magnificent views of the ocean; on the Travel & Leisure deck down at Coconuts, just a few feet above the sand & surf; on the observation deck on the stairs down to the beach with wonderful views of the shoreline; along several spots around the property on the grassy clifftop with splendid views of the ocean and shore.
The Reefs has a special 'terrace' area custom made for weddings etc. They call it Caso's Point. My wife and i witnessed a wedding there in July, could not have been a more perfect location. After the ceremony the B&G went down to the beach just below Coconuts restaurant, for their wedding photos. I can imagine they came out lovely.
Best wishes.
Again, Thank you all so,so,so, much. I am completely satisfied now with my choice. I simply can not wait...........

From everything that I've read and researched... we are going to love Bermuda, and especially our stay at the Reefs. I sent you a more "detailed" email.

Hi 2ndtimearound - I didn't get your email or at least I think I didn't.
I LOVED THR REEFS. We just returned today and I was not disappointed.
All I can say, I am so happy that I found Trip Advisor.com many years ago. It has helped me plan great vacations.
