 Pompano Beach Club question

Is this a place for a young couple (ages 30) to spend a week-long honeymoon? We're looking for relaxing, but also fun! Is it mostly an older crowd or are there young couples/honeymooners like us?

How about location on the island? Is there a lot of stuff around there?

Thanks!!

We spent our honeymoon 10 years ago on Bermuda. We were in our mid 20's and absolutley loved it! You can't beat the beaches, the people are very friendly. If you're looking to go out clubbing every night, probably not the place for you. We went to bars/restaurants everynight and had a blast.

When we went on our honeymoon, there were a lot of people our age-fellow honeymooners.

I think the best locations are on the southern half. Less people, cruisers, etc. Plus there are a ton of little, secluded beaches and coves to find and explore.

We are going back in late June, staying at the Wyndham. Can't wait!

hey PhillyDoug!

My husband and I stay at Pompano when we visit Bermuda and we just love it!

The crowd is mixed......honeymooners to older or familes too. but its a good mix.

The beach is great....small but the water is wonderful...there is a reef that you can walk to.

the food is fantastic and the staff treats you like family.

There is entertainment nightly....not wild but fun!

Every Monday nite there is a rum swizzle party and BBQ...its a great way to meet the staff and fellow vacationers.

Pompano is not smack in the middle of the Island but the staff will drive you to the bus stop or ferry stop. and by ferry Hamilton is only 20 mins away and the dockyard is about 10mins away by bus. once there you can take the high speed ferry to St. George. it's a great way to spend the day. then come back by bus, stop at the swizzle inn for lunch and then head on back.. stop in hamilton and take the ferry back to Pompano. the staff will pick you up at the ferry stop and also if you arrive back by bus.....there is a phone on the wall....just call to the front desk and someone will drive down and get you! very easy!

Pompano offers nite time cataraman rides which are great and daytime ones too. the day one offers lunch too!

there is the dine around plan so you can dine at the Reefs or Cambridge beaches and Coco Reef(they had dining room problems last year so not sure if i'd recommed eating there)

If threre is anything else you want to know just ask. you won't be disappointed by choosing Pompano!

Bonnie

ps: if you can, opt for a room right on the ocean......they are beautiful and the views are fantastic!

Bonseye and Griff, thanks so much for the input!

one more question though...it sounds like pompano is a trek from a lot of stuff. is there anywhere to explore around the hotel area?

thanks again!

if you golf Pompano is right next door to a great golf course. as far as ohter stuff right around....not much but then again you are not far from most attractions either via moped, bus or taxi or ferry! we never feel we are far from anything we want to see..........

I think you should give Pompano as miss. I think you will bored and to be honest with you you will end up going to bed early as the hotel is miles from anything. Also when the sun goes down and the ocean disapears you might find the interiers a bit drap. You should look at Elbow Beach, it has a great restaurant called Mickeys right their private beach (one of the best beaches in Bermuda) It has just opened an impressive night club. Elbow Beach is a lot closer to Hamilton which you will want to visit regularly.

I agree with Sanderson. From this and other posts you have made, it seems like you would like to be close to the action (as much as there is any in Bermuda). Elbow Beach would be a much better location for you being closer to Hamilton and more or less equal distance from either end of the island. I'm afraid I have no idea what the hotel is like but the beach is one of my favourites.
