Hi,

The topic says it all. I am planning a getaway and want to know which hotel is nicer and more convenient to everything.. coco reefs is $30 more total than surfside - so it's not that much of a difference.

Coco Reef definitely has the better location of these two.

It is a nice hotel and certainly has a lovely setting, with a great beach. It is centrally located in Paget, right off of South Rd, and only about 15 min out of Hamilton.

COCO REEFS RESORT (the old Stonington) will be closer and more convenient to downtown Hamilton (by public bus or a less expensive taxi fare. The hotel is located at the far-western end (arguably the prettiest portion and least traffic-ed) of the long strand of Elbow Beach (approx 3/4 mi from end-to-end for pleasant walks before breakfast and moonlight strolls in the evenings)...and right next door (a short stroll--150-200 yds--down the beach) to the large ELBOW BEACH HOTEL (and the additional dining and entertainment options this larger, full-service resort provides).

The dining options at Coco Reefs will be good '..hotel food..' with attentive service (when it was Stonington, the old Norwood Room was one of the best dining rooms on Bermuda)...but nothing much above average.

We personally prefer SURF SIDE (for reasons provided in other threads) but if proximity to downtown Hamilton is a priority, Coco Reef will be the better choice.

I'm taking my Honeymoon at the Coco Reef in july, the reason was the close location to Hamilton, and the nice beach.

thanks guys!

Well i think the most important thing to us is somewhere with a nice room, by the water and quaint - not looking for that big hotel feel.

It's a quick getaway, we will be relaxing most of the time but do want to look around one day - rent scooters and explore, as far as dining goes we want to explore diff options and diff places so we would most likely not be eating where we are staying..and we will will likely hit up a bar one night too if we are in the mood for that.. but its mostly just a chill trip..
