Based upon your preference for a peaceful beach setting, eliminate Marriott.

Manchebo is on the best beach. Radsisson is on best beach in Palm Beach area. The difference is Palm Beach is a much busier area than Manchebo Beach. Lots of shopping, water sports and restaurants.

Hi

If you are looking for peaceful ,lovely beach - stay on EAGLE beach , not Palm

We have stayed on Palm 5 times - great area - busy, lots of restaurants.

Then we discovered EAGLE beach - much larger, quieter, and just so much more room .

We stay at a timeshare (Costa Linda) but there are others also.

We cannot go back to Palm - we always visit the beach for restaurants and other casinos (Eagle beach has a casino and some new restaurants also) but do not want to stay ther for our 2 week vaca.

If I did stay on Palm - it would be the Radisson - stayed there - it was lovely (the resort ,pool, atmosphere) not the beach so much.

Tony,

I've read some mixed reviews about Manchebo, what are your thoughts? Definitely thinking Eagle Beach will be the choice.

Manchebo is on Eagle beach...but.. it is just a room.

If you just want a room - go for it.. but if you want more space(kitchen etc) try Costa linda or another timeshare)

IMO, Manchebo is a bit expensive when compared to Amsterdam Manor and Bucuti. Although Bucuti may actually cost more, when you consider their price includes breakfast, the difference isn't so great. I would not go back to Manchebo, although it is a very nice hotel and the beach is great. Just doesn't compare to Bucuti. We are going to AM for the first time this June. My biggest problem with AM is the road between the hotel and the beach. It isn't the distance so much, it is the thought of traffic passing through my view

from any room that faces the beach. Bucuti is undergoing construction starting in May and ending late August. I don't want to be there for that. Also, on a personal level, I am opposed to their new policy of not allowing non guests at the Sand Bar unless they are invited by a guest. A few years ago, they adopted a no cash ploicy at the Sand Bar. Now this. I won't go back there. I feel that the owner is a snob. The bartenders are certain to suffer under this new policy. Unhappy bartenders will eventually lead to poor service. JMO.

We stayed at the Radisson the past two years and I thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and the beach. Just going back to Eagle Beach this year for a change of pace.

We are in our early 60s and have stayed at the Radisson 10 times and I would not stay anywhere else. It is just a beautiful resort with a very caring staff. Radisson would be a great choice.

I agree with TonyNorthCape

I would not go to Bucuti for certain reasons ( one being construction). They are not welcoming people IMO (snobbish)

Not sure - casa del Mar ???/ Have never stayed there - its on eagle beach - which is the beach of choice for me. Research - Manchebo _ i know we have walked by and had a dinner there ( Matthews - I think) We truly drink too much some nights - so I am sure my info is correct - but check it out yourself HAHAHA!!!!!!

Research !!!!!

casa del mar

Manchebo

Costa Linda

Amsterdam - Cute ... but.. inviting but , not our cup of tea because the location of rooms and pool/beach and patios and balconies - but - a very lovely resort.

I am also partial to Eagle Beach. We have stayed at both Costa Linda and Bucuti. I would definately stay at Costa Linda again. It was great! We rented from a timeshare owner and got our rental for a great price. It is really nicely landscaped. http://www.costalinda-aruba.com/ The units have been recently updated. Manchebo is next door to Bucuti and Bucuti is next door to Costa Linda. They all share the same great beach and are directly on the beach. Amsterdam is across the street from Eagle beach. It also has a nice beach but it is further away from the Bucuti, Costa Linda and Manchebo. You will enjoy Aruba.

Marriott was great. They have an adult only pool which is quiet and relaxing. They are building a Ritz next door so just make sure you request the non construction view and you will be fine.

It's been a while, but we loved staying at Bucuti. We found the staff very nice. I would avoid construction though. I'd look at all the options mentioned in this area. Amsterdam Manor has Passions for dining on the beach and a nice atmosphere. Each one of these has lots of fans on this forum, see which one is best for you.
