which has the best food ... rate from best to worstEdited: 9:20 pm, May 05, 2012
Of the 3 Al a Carte Restaurants I would say:
2. Red Parrot
The Pelican Terrace is all Buffet and the theme changes nightly. We enjoyed some theme nights better than others. Favorites were Mexican and Italian nights. Overall you can always find something good at the buffet and you do not have to worry about the reservations. Always tables available. Stick to the salad bar and made to order stations - the chafer food is sometimes suspect. I would certainly go to the buffet over Ginger - we only ate there once and thought it was terrible.
Its a matter of opinion, but people typically find red parrot to be the best. It also depends greatly on what you order.
Ginger was good the first time we went, 2nd time was poor.
Papparazzi is good, but only if you dont order typicallyi italian food (yeah I know its italian themed... lol). steaks are very good, i'd avoid the chicken.
You left Palm Grill - where you grill your own food - its very good IMO.
My overall ranking would be:
1. Red Parrot (usually has best service too)
2. Palm Grill
3. Papparazzi / Ginger (tie)
The pelican terrace is the buffet - its hit or miss - but I can always find a thing or two that is good there.
Don't forget the pizza / snack bar - really quite good. Excellent sandwiches and pizza. We eat lunch there more often than not. And dinner whenever we try something at the sit downs that was just ok ....Edited: 11:03 am, May 07, 2012
Our group has enjoyed Ginger on our last couple of trips....we thought Papparazzi had slipped a bit....we now eat our lunches with Curtis at the Sandpiper bar...and always find something we like at the Buffett...
I thought they were all good, and couln't really split them for service, and quality of food. I would gladly visit them all again given the chance!
For the a la cartes, our family liked:
1. Red Parrot
2. Ginger/Paparazzi (some up and down experiences at both)
3. Palm Grill (I would rather eat at a buffet than cook my own food over a hot table on a hot night.)
We adored Pizza Per Tutti for just about everything and couldn't complain too much about the buffets.
For the a la cartes
1. Red Parrot
Never went to Ginger & Palm Grill i do all the cooking at home not doing it on holiday.
Pizza Per Tutti was great for a snack and the buffets were good.
Must admit only stumbled on the Sandpiper bar right near the end of our stay(laryco),but back at the Tam 25th Aug so i know where i will be most lunches :).
Sorry for the delay but THANK YOU EVERYBODY for the info on the RESTAURANTSEdited: 9:09 pm, May 07, 2012
in the many times we have been, its usually a tie between paparazzi and red parrot. Though Ginger is pretty good too!
Seems every year/night, it may change a bit. Sometimes you get a better cut of meat at one, than the other... etc. etc.
Took us 6 ys to finally go to palm grill... It was really good! Much better than expected!
agree jasejase about the palm - and i never personally felt like it was a chore to cook my meat...kind of fun actually... but i would always request a late time for that one when it has cooled a bit.
I agree with Lori! Don't want to cook my meals on vacation. We were only at Palm Grill on our first trip to Aruba. It was so hot - between the grill and the air we realy didn't enjoy ourselves. My favorite is the Red Parrot next would be Ginger then Paparazi. Although our first trip there the favorite was Paparazi.
