Antigua mid November

I have to go to Antigua for some business reason, but that will only take one or two days. While I will be staying for a week. Is the St James Club a good and fun place for a single female traveler? Or will it be super boring? And is there maybe some else planning on going to Antigua at that time?

It is difficult to say whether St James will be boring or buzzing at that time of year! It does tend to be a family/slightly older resort, but that said, most guests are very friendly and I would not have thought you would need to be on your own if you don't want to.

Falmouth/English Harbour is not far away if you want to take in some different bars/restaurants, and you can easily get a taxi there. I think that most places should be opening up for the season about then.

Other people may suggest other venues - st James is out on a limb, well away from any other resorts. Perhaps not ideal for you.

Hey Klopher,

Your best bets are either

1. English Harbour - There are a number of bars (and one club) in English Harbour. Best bets are Abracadabras and Mad Mongoose, both within easy walking distance of each other. Also a number of bars around the area. It's pretty safe and a good place to meet new people. For accommodation try Anchorage Rooms, assuming it hasn't already been booked!

2. Dickenson Bay - There isn't much said about the party scene in Dickenson Bay, but I actually consider this to be a BETTER area for entertainment than English Harbour, with year round entertainment. Pepperz n Lime has their Friday night party, Putters just across the road has well attended theme nights 3-4 nights in the week, the newly reopened Rush is just 5-10 minutes walk down the road, and a new casino will be opening by mid November.

Best bet for accommodation on Dickenson Bay is Halcyon Cove, but look out for deals on Antigua Village and Buccanneer Beach Cove as well. The only drawback is, there are no supermarkets in the immediate area, although there is a small shop in the Pepperz N lime/Antigua Village parking lot. There's a supermarket just 5 minutes walk, but you'll have to get a taxi to get there.
