Look it ... everyone ...........
The former (or current) "Rainbow" play ... has been a forum issue of concern (on all of the ANU forums) for years and years. Many forum threads (many have perished) have been authored about this "gaming" type activity at the Grand Princess, Jolly Harbour, casino. The ANU government has, effectively, done NOTHING to curtail the operation.
There are certain "political" and "ethnic" reasons that this unfair "gaming play" exists. This "game" has been outlawed in the USA for decades. I'm not certain that it ever has risen to the surface at any Casino in the USA ... but, without question, was once present at certain Carnivals.
I've always advised that folks should go to any "casino" with only a limited amount of "expendable cash" in their pockets. Leave any credit/debit cards in your room safe. This means YOUR cards as well as your spouses!!!!!!!!!
Alcohol consumption figures well into the the "game". I personally know of a newlywed couple, from just outside of New York City, that lost close to US$20,000 on the very evening of their "extended" stay at the Pineapple Beach Resort. About half of that amount was, after months and months of "back and forth" with the credit card company, eventually "forgiven or abated".
These were NOT folks "well healed" financially. It greatly affected their marriage and their future lives.
Drinking alcohol and casino play .... do NOT "mix" ... to the benefit of the players. It's a simple truth.
If one is absolutely "sober" ... and loses great sums of money ... what can I say? .... except .... Shame on you !
It's only my opinion (how can we ever know the truth?) ... that this particular casino "game", relies on somewhat affluent "cruise ship" passengers that would rarely be inclined to admit to their losses on ANU via ANY public forum. The majority, most likely, aren't even aware of "INTERNET Forums".
Casinos know the "ODDS" much better than the majority of the "PLAYERS". This is the principal reason that they thrive.
Sorry about the long reply ..... I'm stepping down from the "soapbox" ... tonight.
Cheers and best of luck to all,
T
