Info on Arawak Beach Inn |
|
Hello, There are many positive reveiws of the Arawak Beach Inn, but few mention which rooms the reviewer stayed in. We are trying to decide whether to reserve a room on the top floor or the first floor. For those of you who stayed there, do the first floor rooms have a view from the terrace? Thanks for your help! Hi- we were on a first floor room and it faced the water. Honestly, I really wouldn't recommend it. Much better places on the island. Report as inappropriate

Greetings, I have just booked a 3 month stay at Arawak ( sept-nov ) and I got some good info from Maurice, a co-owner/agent in New York, cell phone 914-837-3302. He said the 2nd floors have slightly better views because they are elevated above the flowering hibiscus and other tropical garden foliage. Also, only the downstairs have kitchens, and the downstairs is actually elevated by 4ft. and not directly on the ground... Also, the upstairs will be more quiet even though there has been improoved sound insulation added. I feel VERY fortunate to have "snagged" a deluxe separate unit with no one above me so I will enjoy maxium privacy. So, the 1st floors ly views but the 2nd has better. When are you planning to be there? Maybe I'll see you there !I am giddy with anticipation. Report as inappropriate

hi, On the Caribbean-On-Line there is a lady called Claudia who posts regularly. A couple of years ago she had an extended stay, at Arawak and loved it. Arawak is in Island Harbour which is in the East End. The East End is not yet developed and if you want the real island feel and integrate with the local people in their small village you will find it here. The owner is Maria, which is an English lady. I had some friends which stayed there for 10 days a couple of years ago, they were quite happy with it, although they went back to Carimar for following year, as they prefer Meads Bay and the West End. The other poster stayed at Arawak for one night before their stay at Cap Juluca. And it can't compare to Cap Juluca, but then the pricing is no comparable either. If you post on the Anguilla forum on www.caribbean-on-line.com you may find Claudia. Make the heading something like For Claudia who stayed at Arawak, she may see it and be able to give you moe detailed answer. Although I have never stayed there, I have seen the property, and from what I read I would chance it myself, but don't expect Cap Juluca standard for the price. Hope this is of some help to you. No- you can't compare the Arawak to Cap Juluca, but I will always give credit to a place where credit is due. We had a bad experience there. I'm guessing it wasn't the norm based on other reports. I can only go by what happened to us. Report as inappropriate
