Does anyone know if the Carimer resort has put in A/C yet? We were there in the Spring and you could pay for A/c in the bedroom only, but they indicated that they were going to put in A/c in all the units. Thank for any info |
|
I spoke to them a few weeks ago and it was being installed then. I was assured it would all be finished before November when it mattered to me.

I'm staying at Carimar next week. They told me the a/c's are now in all bedrooms.

Hello, Thank you for your reply- have a great time there next week- please let us know about the A/C- whether there is A/c only in bedroom or in the whole unit- plus is the price included with the daily rate or there an additional daily rate for A/C. It seemed like a perfect resort if A/C was included

They are only installing AC in the bedrooms and you have to leave the bedroom door closed if the air is on. If the door is open the AC will automatically shut off after a certain period of time.

Thank you for the information- we liked the resort but I have asthma and need A/C. we stayed at KU last year and liked it but ended up going to the west end almost daily.

Turtle's Nest (www.turtlesnestresort.com) just down Meads Bay is very reasonable and has wonderful a/c -- very strong. The units are quite large, fully equipped, big balconies -- we liked it there a lot.

Of course, I meant www.turtlesnestbeachresort.com

Mary, Thank you so much for the info - the resort sounds wonderful and after our first trip to Anguilla- it was love at first sight. We had a timeshare in the Caymans that was destroyed in Ivan and a timeshare in Aruba but the beaches and food and people in Anguilla are just so wonderful! Again, thank you for the tips Roberta

We loved Carimar as well but... My wife also needs a/c A/C in the bedrooms only is just not good enough. The suites are nice sized and with the kitchen area, the area just heats up too much. Most of the units do not receive much of the Trade Winds, and the ceiling fans just are not enough. It is nice to sit in the living area and read a book or have a cocktail and not be uncomfortable. Other than that, nice place.

Any more updates on Carimar - we might be there sharing a 2 bedroom with a friend - is AC in all the bedrooms? We are waiting to find out if they can move the twin beds together - I'm guessing they can but anyone have any info there. I'm sure we'll hear back soon but I always like to get some feed back on these kind of things from those of you out there who've actually been there. I'm still thinking RBH might be interesting for a last fling - if we can get a room as previous guests and all that. But am also wondering what kind of shape they'll be in - I read the reviews but nothing seemed that recent.
