 Carribean honeymoon

Help! I'm searching for a perfect honeymoon and was looking at either Maldives or Carribbean so wanted to ask anyone for advice! My budget is about 2000£pp and we want amazing white sandly beaches and clear water. I know it's hurricaine and rainy season in Carribbean but it's also rainy in Maldives and Carrib has shorter flights!

I was wondering about BVI as I've heard amazing things about it but think my budget might be low for BVI? Was also thinking of Ritz Carlton in grand Cayman but as it's not including anything - thought it would get very expensive as have to buy all food/drinks etc. So need advice - where would you go and which resort?

Thanks a mill

Have you looked at Le Blanc Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico.?

It is all inclusive, has clear water and white sandy beach and gets very good reviews from Honeymooners.

When are you going?

Going in Sept which I know it's hurricaine season but I guess Mexico might be better bet for weather. Is it really commercial or quiet? I'll check it out thanks!

No, that part of Mexico is no better than the Caribbean in September, after a long hot summer, the waters are warm and ripe for hurricanes, they can come up out of nowhere. If you can hold off, you would be better going to that area in early November - the rates are still low, and the threat of a hurricane is lessened.

If you read the TA reviews, you will see La Blanc is quiet and low key, the city of Cancun in general is commercial.

Good Luck and happy planning.

I've been to Maldives and plenty of Caribbean destinations, I have to tell you-it's hard to beat Maldives-my absolute favorite in the world.

I did not go in rainy season though, so don't know how that affects it.

I have been to plenty of Caribbean islands in rainy season, and some that the best time of year-incredible weather (other than a hurricane of course, but you get 5-7 days notice of them usually.)

Maldives is alot more expensive than any Caribbean island.

What month are you going? (hurricane season is 1/2 the year, some months in general have more chance than others.)

What amore are you looking for, with tons of islands in Caribbean-each has their own personality, and you need to narrow it down for us.

Thanks - that was really helpful - I was originally looking at Grand Cayman or Britsih Virgin but now after much research including your advice!! -I think I've decided on Maldives as you say something magical about it. Now of course there's the big - which island debate! Might need to take my thought ontot a Maldivian forum - if you have any advice on where you've been or loved then that would be great. Going in Sept and just over 2000£pp.

Aruba is usually out of the hurricane area and also doesn't get much rain.

They are predicting a pretty bad hurricane season and Sept. is prime time.
