After posting and asking so many questions on this forum and Bryce canyon, I decided to spend way more time in Zion and spent 1 day in Page, AZ instead of my original crazy plan of canyonlands, arches, and everything else.
First day, I got to zion late around 2 or 3pm, so i stayed at a motel after failing to get a dip on South Campground. Managed to hiked both Angel's Landing and Upper Emerald Pool. They are incredible!
Second day, I did the Narrows with dry suit and neoprene socks and water shoes from Zion Outfitters as many of you recommended. Water was at around 75 cubic feet, temperature was in the 40's. It wasn't cold at all with the suit. It was actually quite enjoyable and even warm at time. I'm glad I didn't get the whole wet suit.
Third day, I decided to take it easy and just did Hidden Canyon and Observation point. I was done with hiking around 2pm and spent the day visiting the Human History Museum and wandered around Springdale and the art gallery and gift shops and what not. People were so nice! I love all the store owners. Since i was by myself, it was nice getting to talk about Zion with these locals. I felt l learned so much about the park from these people.
Fourth day I did the Subway hike. I was so glad that there's still permit. This has to be my favorite because it's not crowded and WOW, it was AMAZING! I was confused about the trail going down the canyon at first but then it's really easy to follow along the creek to the Subway. Then I hiked up the overlook point in the east side before sunset to catch some good view.
The next day, I woke up early and headed to Page. The worst decision I made during this trip was to skip Bryce. I was scared that I wasn't going to find a campsite and then will be forced to stay in a motel again. I just couldn't afford to spend anymore on lodging. I checked the weather and it said thuderstorm and snow anyways at Bryce, so i decided to skip the short detour and head straight to page. Well, I camped at lone rock and there were practically almost nobody there. I regretted not going to Bryce for a bit but I got a good day just laying out next to the beautiful lake. I visited Antelope Canyon (lower) and Horseshoe Bend.
The next day, I woke up early again, got my car stuck in the sand but got a good neighbor camper to help me pull it out, before driving back to southern california. I decided to return Sunday instead of Monday. I had too much homework! I was pretty sad driving back and just wanted to road trip through the American Southwest for the entire month.
Vegas traffic was horrible and took almost 10 hours to get back from Page to SoCal.
The trip couldn't be any better and thank you everyone so much for all of your help!
I have a personal blog and wrote about my experience hiking the narrows and the subway, if care to read more about them.
Again, thank you! I love Tripadvisor.
