Grant Grove or Foothills Area

Hello all!

our family is headed up to Sequoia in a few weeks and we were planning on staying at Grant Grove ( Sunset or Azalea) as we were told its a pretty decent place. A friend has recommended to stay at Buckeye Flat though?

Any suggestions. Its adults and kids.obviously we want to see the park, and get in some water. Ive heard that Hume Lake isn't too far from Grant Grove but that apparently there's some waterfalls/ river by Buckeye.

What do you guys recommend?

Info on HUme Lake campground.

Buckeye is a campground on the river....not for swimming.

Paradise Creek has a mini falls into a pool also not good for swimming. Also a waterfall up the trail from Potwisha Campground.

I would stay in the park maybe at Stony Creek or Dorst.

There's nothing wrong with staying in the foothills, but my personal preference would be Grant Grove. The campgrounds in the foothills always seem to be very busy, and if getting in the water is on your to-do list Hume Lake is much safer than any of the rivers.
