We will be spending one night in Sequoia National Park next week. We would love to see at least one nice waterfall while we're there if possible. So, my questions are this . . .

-- are there waterfalls in the area that are flowing strongly at this time of year?

--if there are any, which of them is easiest/fastest to reach -- both in driving distance from the Wuksachi Lodge and then in actual hiking distance from parking area to the site of the falls?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

Well, there is Tokopah Falls, trailhead at the Lodgepole campground, very close to Wuksachi, then a two mile flat hike one way, but it's more of a tall cascade or staircase, than a vertical waterfall--there's nothing like Yosemite's waterfalls there.

Ditto Tokopah Falls.

We are staying at the Lodgepole campground Sunday night. My daughters are going to do the hike first thing Monday morning ... if not Sunday afternoon as well.

You hike right along the river.

There are two lovely falls both very short hikes off the road after reentering the park through the canyon, in fact the one at the start of the "Cedar" area can be seen from the parking lot. The other past the lodge almost at the end of the road is but a 1/4 mile hike & is impressive year round.
