We are going to LA for Spring Break (Mar 9-17). It's me, hubby, 17 yo eschange student, daughers 8 and 10. Most of the LA things are all about the kids, Warner Bros tour, Disney, Movie star home tour, etc. I love nature and national parks. Since we are so "close" I had planned a day at JTNP at the end of the trip.
My plan is to drive late Thursday night from Disney, stay at a hotel, spend Friday at the park, stay a 2nd night at the hotel and get up early Saturday morning to drive to LAX for our 12:35 flight.
Is this feasible? I get long driving distances since we are from Texas but maybe I'm over zealous here? Is it worth the drive over?
This is the only hotel I haven't booked. I originally thought to book something in Palm Springs just because I've never been there. But I don't know if we'll have time to explore at all other than the one day at the park. So would it be better to stay in Yucca Valley or Twentynine Palms? So many of the hotels seem very expensive or not kid friendly. We are not going to camp. I just want a basic hotel but not TOO basic.
Is it reasonable on a Saturday to get to the airport from this area for a 12:35 flight?
Any suggestions/advice would be welcome.
