grand canyon, hoover dam, bryce canyon, lowell powell

I am looking for a tour company that will set up a self drive tour from las vegas, that includes the national parks and accomodations for the trip. Looking to go in April with some seniors, so a slow paced, low key trip is what I am looking for. Anyone know companies that book multi-day self drive tours?

That is what Trip Advisor is for. Sorry we don't charge any fees. And you'll need to to the advance booking yourself.

Read the Top Question, trip reports and reviews here in the Arizona forums and also in the Utah forums. Now is the time to be making your plans. Rooms and lodging are booking up for spring 2013.

Come back with some specifics about how much time you have and what you THINK you want to see and do.

we will probably fly into vegas for 2 nights and would like a driving tour to see the south rim, and spend one or two night in the park, then bryce canyon and lake powell and whatever in between. Guess hoover dam on the way back. One more night in vegas, then off to home. We can do about a week. 4 adults (2 seniors) and two children. Adults have some limited mobility. Will look to rent a suburban or equivalent for the driving. Trip of a lifetime for the seniors (80th b-day present). Looking for recommendations on times, places and hotels. I have seen tour companies book the u-drive tours and include itineraries and lodging. Trying to keep in simple and keep the cost down. Thanks for any help.

Take a look at a map. You'll see that Hoover Dam is between LV and the GCNP south rim. Next stop would be Page and Lake Powell, then on to Bryce and Zion on the way back to LV.

A week is enough time to do this trip. I repeat, read the Top Questions in the GCNP forum and the Utah forum. Also look at OhioHick's post about Grand Circle trip planning at the top of the UT forum page. You'll gain all the information you need to begin planning and booking your trip.

You're not going to find a tour booking service here. You'll simply learn all that you need to do it yourself. And keep the costs down. The key to economy is careful advance planning. Get busy.

Is your Las Vegas stay included in one week?

yes, one night in and one night on the way back. Small kids so not much draw for us there. One night with the seniors in the casinos will be enough. Any hotel recommendations in Bryce or Zion? Like the look of the lodge in Zion. Pricey though. Maybe stay two nights in Zion and commute to Bryce from Zion before heading onto GCNP?

At Bryce choose Rubys Inn. They have several hotels at the complex, including the BW Grand and traditional Best Western Lodge. The Ruby family has been hosting visitors at Bryce for over a century. They are virtually the only game in town.

For Zion, the town of Springdale is right at the park entrance. You can find a wide variety of Inns and motels there, along with lots of dining and service options. We are partial to the Desert Pearl.

Book your GCNP reservation right now. Another poster has already discovered that his choice at GCNP for Nov 2013 is fully booked. Rubys Inn will fully book far in advance as well.

If you want cheaper lodging try Bryce View Lodge. Desert Pearl is fantastic but not cheap. Zion to GCNP via Bryce in one day is not recommended. That's already some 7 hours in the car plus the visit to Bryce.

Well, Bindlestiff does rate very highly on the Trip Advisor reviews. I looked them up on the the web; here's the link:

http://www.bindlestifftours.com/

Not sure if they will set up a self-drive tour, but at least you have a lead. Check out their sight.

That said, touring the desert southwest is an easy trip to set up on your own. Doing your own tour lets you set your pace and do the things that you want to do when you want to do them.

That tour looks rather rushed to me.
