Hickman Bridge Trail

I will be in Capitol Reef NP in mid-Sept. Are there any updates on the Hickman Bridge Trail? Is the Cassidy Arch trail open and available? If Hickman Bridge Trail is still closed, do you have any suggestions for another hike that is similar in length and difficulty?

There is no indication on the park website that it has been opened.

The Cassidy arch was not affected and would be a good alternate.

I also enjoy the Capitol Gorge hike though it is easy. Cohab Canyon or Fremont River trail might be comparable difficulty with some nice capitol reef views and habitat.

I was just down in Capitol Reef a week ago and the trail is still closed due to a rock slide. As mentioned Cassidy Arch or if you want to drive a lot longer and have a 4WD vehicle and are a skilled hiker you could try Brimhall Natural Bridge. I also found a small bridge in Capitol Gorge above the "Tanks". I would definitely recommend Cohab Canyon too.

Thanks for the update, Shake801! Getting news from the Capitol Reef rangers can sometimes be a struggle~

That must have been some rockslide!
