Acadia Night Sky Festival

Any locals or destination experts have any insight on this festival? I'm considering my first trip to Maine to coincide with this event.

I love the Night Sky Festival. There are lots of activities that week. The best part are the giant telescopes that they set up on Sand Beach and let you try out. There are also star gazing nights on top of Cadillac and at the Seawall. There are some presentations and there is an outdoor movie (usually a family movie) on the Village Green. Lots of locals and visitors turn out for that night. They've shown E.T., Wall-E, and last year was Muppets in Space. You get the idea. I don't see a movie on the schedule this year so not sure if they are doing it again or not.

There's a night kayak trip in Castine in a bioluminescent bay which I heard was great.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like fun and a good way to meet other star gazers. Thanks!
