We are looking forward to spending 11 days and nights in Roda in June. We are a party of 6 (including 2 toddlers) and need to arrange our own transfers from the airport to the resort. Can somebody please advise how long a standard coach transfer is likely to take and what would this cost for a return trip. Alternatively what is the likely cost of two return taxis and the transfer time for this. Are there any companies that offer minibus transfers and if so is this likely to be cheaper than 2 taxis?

I believe our hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Roda centre and 20 minutes to Acharavi in the opposite direction. We enjoy eating out at a different restaurant every night followed by a few drinks. Does Roda have enough good quality restaurants and bars to keep us happy or would you recommend splitting our time in both resorts?

Any advice appreciated!

No problem with restaurants in Roda - many people never get around them especially as they return to their favourites after a few days. A lot depends on the type of restaurant you like best but, as you say, a short walk to Acharavi will give you more choice.

Transfers are often discussed on this forum and coaches to Roda can take anything from one hour ip to four hours in extreme cases. So I guess, there is no such thing as a standard coach journey - the tiimings are completely in the hands of the tour operators and bus companies. For taxis, then there is none better than Roda Taxis - you can find all the information about prices and times on their website - http://rodataxi.com/.

For other people's experiences with transfers and minibuses, then ask those who go every year to Roda. You can find them on the forum at http://www.rodaonline.org/.

Thanks for the info. Don't want to be stuck on a coach for upto 4 hours with two young girls after a 4 hour flight so think taxis are probably the way to go. The Roda taxis website shows a price of 50 Euros and the Roda Online webpage states prices for the 2011 season are fixed at 50 Euros. Hopefully it won't increase this year!

No doubt I'll have more questions to ask nearer the time but thanks for now.

Ask away Steve - any time. Taxi prices for the year are normally decided about this time of year, but I really can't see any increases being applied. If there are, then I will announce it on the forum and the Roda Taxi site will be updated.

Hi we are planning to go to Corfu for 4 days after driving around the peloppenese . Am getting a little confused about the best each area to be in. We have a Greek background and would like local tavernas etc to eat at but don't want to be too far away fr on sightseeing etc ??
