Our trip to Nui Dat to visit the Long Tan memorial (feb 2012). My husband and I decided it was time to pay our respects to the Vietnam Vets who lost their lives during the Vietnam War in the 60's. We engaged the services of a driver, by the name of Mr Sang, a local from Mui Ne, a long standing driver with a very good name as we did our homework. He does trips to Dalat, Saigon, Nha Trang - virtually anywhere you want to go - and very safely.
we left at 5am drove south along the coast, saw the sunrise, stopped for breakfast, we could've asked him anything and he would have obliged. he was informative and knowledgeable. The memorial is bitter/sweet, in the middle of a rubber plantation, but so surreal, very eerie, but we felt honoured to be there and pay our respects to those who lost their lives in Australia & Vietnam. We would sincerely recommend Mr Sang as a good driver, honourable and he knows the roads and also speaks english. Do yourself a favour and just see Vietnam when you want and where you want - your wish is his desire. See anywhere you want to go and be adventurous. Take care and enjoy
