A day in NYC

Need to be in NYC later this month, five days of work but arranged to fly back to the UK on Sunday so have saturday free. This question has probably been a thousand times but.... what recommendations has anyone on how we get the best out the day? Also, any suggestions for the evening time would be worth knowing.

Thanks

I'd suggest asking this question in the NYC forum, they probably have a stock answer (we do in Philly :) )

You will get a better response in the heavily populated New York forum. But since you're here ...

We get to New York a lot, so we like to spend our time just walking in Greenwich Village and Soho. We just love to wander forever.

Times Square is an electrifying area at night and I would suggest that, as well.

If this is a first trip, you will want to do some of the traditional New York stops like the boat trip to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, etc.

Our favorite little restaurant is Otto, a wonderful, reasonably priced exciting Italian restaurant from chef Mario Batali. It's near Washington Square in the Greenwich Village area.

Have fun. Where are you staying?

the NYC Forum is really helpful so I suggest you putting your post on there.

We recently visited NYC for a few days and took the hop on/ hop off tour bus around the city. Its a great way to get orientated and see all the major attractions in a short time.
