Sites to Find a Travel Buddy?

Has anyone used the site Travel Buddy or similar to find a travel partner? Any success or horror stories? I am considering using the site to find a travel partner for an upcoming trip to Italy, but I'd like some insight first.

Thanks!

A warm Welcome to all new members!!!

I think some people have not understand exactly what this forum is about. It is about advice on solo travelling, not about finding a companion. Solo travel is prefered method of travel for many people and not a situation someone has to "endure" due to circumstances.

That said, I appreciate that some people might not be sure about solo travel, or tried it and not feel comfortable about it after all. I respect this, but this not the appropriate forum to exchange more personal info, arrange to meet up or trying to find a travel companion

Thus, please if you are interested to start "chatting" with someone, there is a PM (Private Messaging) function available. Click on the screen name found below member's avatar and you'll get to member's profile page. On the left column above ratings reviews etc there is an option "Send a message" . You click, compose and send whatever you want to send without other people seen it.

I find some recent posts on the public forum rather irrelevant.

I hope you receive my comment on the good hearted/well meant tone I wrote it .

Please all of you stay with us and explore solo forums and TA forums in general. You may start by researching past threads by putting related key words on search box above post title here. There is a wealth of info and opinions on various topics, and many people willing to offer advice.

Hello David and welcome to the solo travel forum

I appreciate that you have just joined trip adviser this week, and may not be familiar with this site's features. At the top of this page (on the right hand side) is a list of Top Questions about Solo Travel, and the first item explains what this forum is for and how to use it.

Basically this is a public forum, and is not intended to provide a site for finding travel buddies or companions. Mariha in the above post 32. has also explained this.

I do hope you still use this forum to raise any questions, or make suggestions about solo travel. Trip Adviser also has a distinct forum for cruise travellers, which you may find interesting.
