Umbrella Walkingstick on Ryanair?

Umbrella Walkingstick on Ryanair?

I've unsuccessfully searched Ryanair website and tried to email them regarding my umbrella style walking stick and I'm hoping someone on here may know the answer. I can't find a thread about this using the search option.

I need to use a walking stick but don't like to admit to needing it so I use an umbrella style one. I have taken it on easyjet with no problems but I know Ryanair are not as easy to travel with. Has anyone experienced taking one of these on Ryanair? I am concerned that they might say it's an umbrella and refuse to let me take it onboard with me.

Realistically - grow some, buy an ordinary stick and suck it up for ths trip.

Ryanair will try to charge you for everything they can - why get into an argument, both flight out and back, when you could just take a stick?

I'd rather not grow some it's not a good look on a girl :-).

I don't want to get into an argument that will result in my stick being confiscated so looks like it will have to be an old lady style one. I can't manage without one at the moment but hate needing it,

I emailed Ryanair but the response just referred me back to their T&C's which I have already read so no help there. I'm going to call them and will post if I get a sensible answer

Sorry you are having a bad day johnb121, hope you feel better tomorrow.

I am taking an ordinary stick but will try and find out about the umbrella one as the handle is more comfortable, it's fine on easyjet but Ryanair are so tricky I daren't risk it.

We fly out tomorrow to Warsaw then on to Krakow.

I've taken a normal walking stick on Ryanair with no problem. It may be too late now, but Ryanair do have a number to call for people with disabilities or needing assistance. It is on their website.

John, we loved Krakow

Still no resolution to the umbrella/walking stick, I didn't see anyone to ask during the journey, the staff were always so busy and I wasn't sure they would understand what I was asking. Travelling easyjet next time so not an issue. I took a fold up one in my case in the end but it's not as sturdy or comfortable to use.
