We dealt with one of their operators on Saturday trying to book a holiday to Marrakech for £418. He was quick on the attempted up-sell with broken confused English and pushing to book alternative flights. While we were still discussing transfers from the hotel, we are not happy with KPX Travel's service. In particular this operator prior to giving us our reference or confirmation details stated the whole holiday was booked and no further changes could be made but failed to process the additional payment (£78) along with continuing an attempt on a further purchase. We understand that the calls are recorded and had an unhelpful and rude conversation with the operator in which he made it clear that he wanted no further involvement in the resolution of this matter. We were told by him that he had upgraded our luggage so that we could take an extra piece of hold luggage along with the two pieces of hand allowance on our flight tickets. We were also told that KPX Travel does not belong to any regularity bodies but on further investigation find that they are, in fact, members of ABTA and ATOL. So basically he lied. We think that KPX Travel are responsible for this matter and understand in that, under the terms on conditions clearly stated on Groupon's voucher and website, this holiday had not yet been confirmed at this time. This, along with the fact that on inspection of the flight details, do not have any further allowance on luggage we feel that there has been a breach of contract between ourselves on the part of KPX Travel:-
After close inspection of the Ts & Cs we understand confirmation of booking is only on receipt of the confirmation e-mail which was sent to us after these conversations on the 9th of Dec 2012 the day after we complained. We wish it to made quite clear that during these discussions on the 8th of December not been given any reference number or confirmation booking e-mail and refused to agree that we had confirmed this deal.
After looking into the ABTA we can see that they are in breach of quite a few code of conduct practices and see that they have been fined and taken to court a number of times.
Today they said they will do nothing and require extra money of £140 odd pounds to change our booking to what we wanted.
We will be complaining and writing to the CO-OP, Groupon. Freedom Travel, ABTA, ATOL, and KPX. We will continue to post updates to inform others of this, what can only be described as con. Any others out there with a similar experience of KPX?.
