Direct flight Boston MA USA to Las Vegas USA

I have just realised that there are almost no direct flights from Boston to las vegas. We need to do this flight on Monday April 13 2015, and would prefer direct flight out in the morning. There's a jetblue flight but i've never flown them before and it's expensive, and the only other two direct flights are at night.

Does anyone know of any alternatives that would end up being direct? ie. nearby airports or something i haven't thought of.

Jet Blue has a non stop 8PM flight for $199. ( one way) I would grab it. That is NOT expensive at all! Jet Blue is an excellent airline. You may not have heard of it--but it is highly rated. It also includes 1 piece of checked luggage--which is becoming pretty unique nowadays, so when you compare with other airlines, make sure you add luggage costs.

There are no other non stop flights from Boston to LAS on Apr `13.

Strangely enough, if you flew on Apr.16 Delta appears to have a non stop on that day.

The other possible flights all have at least 1 stop somewhere. That's just the way the flights are scheduled. I imagine that you could find a non stop flight from JFK in New York City but not anywhere much closer.

That is a little odd. I'm guessing it's because while both Boston and Las Vegas are big airports, neither is a hub for anyone except Boston is a Jet Blue hub.

You could check Southwest on southwest.com. They don't show up on any travel sites. I know they fly out of nearby Providence and Manchester, NH and I think they fly from Boston, now.

Jet Blue is a very good airline and I would not hesitate to fly them if they have a direct flight.

JetBlue is generally my preferred airline out of Boston. They are better than the legacy US carriers in terms of service and amenities. You are also not penalized with steep prices for purchasing one way tickets.

Southwest does have flights from Boston now, but almost all of them are connecting, through Baltimore I believe. Could be wrong as I won't fly them anymore. I like my seat assignments.

You can try Manchester NH or Providence RI, but you'll have to drive an hour or so to get to them from Boston.

They have their own casinos now in CT- Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun - both gigantic- I am sure it has cut down some on demand for Las Vegas. I believe a casino is going to be opened somewhere near Boston soon too- these are al American Indian owned I believe.

Thanks everyone. I will admit I was shocked when I realised there's not many direct flights. We need to fly out in the morning and can't change the day since other things have been booked already. That just leaves the morning jetblue flight, which is almost $400, plus $50 extra each as we'll have two checked bags by then.

We have therefore decided we'll probably take the Southwest flight with a 2 hour connection time in Kansas City. It's a long enough connection to allow for delays so hopefully it works out. There is a flight through Denver with a 25 minute connection. No idea how that would work! Flying through Kansas has us arriving in Vegas at 3pm, so that's not bad.

Thanks for the help :)

I would stay far away from that sort of a connection. If a baggage guy sneezes, you, and/or your luggage might not make it. DEN is a lovely airport, but very large, so connecting gates can be a very long ways apart.

Good luck - both on the tickets, and in Las Vegas,

Hunt
