Ryan Air : Customre service and care

I've had a recent horrendous experience with Ryan Air. The worst I've ever had in air travel. I was wondering what the general consensus is on them as a company and, in particular, on how they view their customers and ther level of customer care ?

They're a good airline as long as you play by their rules. Deviate from them at your peril lol. Whenever I've had need to call them, they've been very pleasant and helpful.

76+ million passengers travel with them every year. There's bound to be few who are unhappy, either through their own mistake in not understanding the T&C's laid out at time of booking or genuine problems caused by the airline, airport or weather related.

Here is the link to a previous thread of mine in the Stansted forum. It gives details.

I don't think it's unfair to say that the general consensus (in here at least) is that if you follow their rules you are unlikely to have any problems. Of course there will always be people who have problems and then think everyone else will as well, hence the many "I had a bad experience, therefore everyone should avoid such-an-such airline" posts.

You are aware of the high number of Ryanair flights from Stansted at around the same time as your flight was scheduled? I'd have given myself more time at the airport, although generally 2 hours should be sufficient when the airport isn't as busy.

Never had a problem with them and fly with them lots.

Stansted Airport however has had its problems. What with long queues in the AM two hours is cutting it fine.

I think the major part of your beef should be with Stansted Airport rather than Ryanair.

Ryan Air is correct. Your issue is with Stansted Airport not with the airline. Regardless of the line at check in, you obviously made it before their cutoff time.

As such, it was the delay is security that held you up and made you miss your flight.

Ryan Air, as indeed do most others, request you arrive 3hrs before an international flight, and by your own admission you were there just over 2hrs before.

Would those extra 45minutes that you chose to ignore have helped? I think so

"Ryan Air, as indeed do most others, request you arrive 3hrs before an international flight"

That's not true, they recommend 2 hours.

Actually I was not aware of the large number of Ryan Air flights at any particular time of day. Should I have been ?? I booked a flight to get somewhere. I assumed (never assume anything !!) that being at the airport more than 2 hours before a short haul flight to europe was ample time. I also expect the airline and the airport to be able to cope with the schedule THEY have put in place. To be able to process ALL of their passengers for ALL of their flights within a reasonable time. If they can't...and they obviously can't (not just my experience but that of many others) then they need to take out some flights OR clearly advise passengers that they MUST arrive and begin queueing 4 (or 5) hours before a flight. Then we would know and could make an informed decision as to whether that is what we want to do or make whether we want to make alternative arrangements. I was shocked and amazed by what happened to me on the 8th July at Stansted. Truly shocked and surprised. As I said in my original thread the effect on some other people was even more profound....young families...older people...it was appalling.

It's wrong aand its shameful.
