Virgin, Delta, or American? (JFK - LHR)

Hi,

Traveling solo to London in November and I'm 5'11". The fares are relatively all the same but I want the best bang for my buck. I was searching for reviews and I found that they're very mixed. Some people say airline x is horrible while another person says airline x is awesome. I don't get it... So, if I'm traveling from JFK - LHR, what will give me my best value. I already voted BA out because they have an older fleet of aircrafts running out of JFK.

Thanks in advance,

Billy

I already voted BA out because they have an older fleet of aircrafts running out of JFK.

But they have brand new ones running out of EWR :)

Fair enough.

I would probably pick Virgin out of those three, but others will almost certainly have different opinions!

They're all much of a muchness really. The last flight I had on Virgin from JFK wasn't amazing, but the Delta one was fab. I'd pick Delta as you can pay for the Economy comfort seating which has a little more legroom - it's not massively expensive, I think $69 on my last flight. With Virgin you'd have to book premium economy which is far more expensive, or check in early and pay for an extra legroom seat which you can only do at the airport so no guarantees.

I'm a fan of Delta. They've served me very well on past flights.

I've voted out American. I can do Delta there & Virgin on the way home.

It would be better to do it the other way around IMO - Virgin out and Delta back.

That way you get EU261 protection both ways. You can also do it pretty easily on the same ticket on the VS or DL website.

There's a lot to be said for getting EU 261 protection both ways, and paying the extra for extra legroom (which you can on American also) without going all the way to Premium Economy.
