is strollers allowed to be taken in Singapore air line

Hi, I'm planing to travel with my family in Singapore air lines very soon. we have a 8 year, 6 year and a 3 year old kids. we need to take two strollers with us. Are the strollers allowed in the air line to be taken near the gate ? Can we take the strollers free of charge on the flight ? Thanks

See above comment. However, 8/6/3 yo kids - how exactly does that even equal 1 stroller. Life would be much simpler if you just got them to walk - taking 1 stroller on holiday is not fun for the parent, let alone 2.

Not being judgmental, but we were given legs for a reason

apara2014,

Welcome to the Air Travel Forum!

Wishing you a nice journey with Singapore Airlines.

@travellinallover:

I am not sure if we should tell the TO how to manage their kids and at what age the kids should be able to walk for an entire trip. I doubt it will be more fun to make them walk the entire trip, event though they might have legs.

Requirement seems to be clear: "we need to take two strollers with us." and this seems to be manageable.

I don't think that first link is working .. try

singaporeair.com/en_UK/…

And it looks like strollers are restricted.

For sure it cannot be taken on board.

Usually you will get a baggage tag for it at checkin, but can use it up to the boarding gate where somebody will take care. This depends not only on the airline, but on the airport regulations. Therefore it is best to contact your airline to be sure about it.

We recently used Singapore Airlines with our 2 year old son from London - Singapore - Perth.

We booked a seat for him, and as well as a full regular baggage allowance, he was allowed a (gate checked) pushchair plus his car seat in the cabin.

Remember, no airline covers damage to strollers. Advice appropriate, rejected, or not... a 6 year old shouldn't need a stroller unless the are incapacitated in some way. That would have to be some mega-sized, expensive, high-risk-to-travel-with stroller.

I'm guessing all the people who commented that a kid a certain age shouldn't need a stroller are people who DO NOT have multiple kids. When you are in a crowded area with a lot of baggage to carry and don't have both hands to manage your children by holding hands (they won't want to hold it for that long), you absolutely need a stroller to "consolidate" the kids and baggage to one item you can push in the direction you need to go. Otherwise kids will want to wander, you will need to keep herding them, calling them, scolding them, all while trying to manage your bags, keep them from touching display items, and either getting lost or getting bumped. Trying to do this in a crowded airport on a time constraint while having to take out tickets and ID with multiple things to carry!!!

Leave the parents alone if you don't even know what you're talking about.

It takes 2 hands to push a stroller especially in an airport when you often need

To maneuver through narrow and tight spots

And take care not to run into other people. Two adults + two strollers = no mor hands. Who hangs onto the oldest child in a crowded airport? Who takes the luggage? Porters perhaps?? I'd love to know how it works.
