What's a good price? (SFO - anywhere in Europe)

Planning my first international flight next summer. I found airfare about a month ago that could get me to Amsterdam or Paris for around $500 at then end of June 2014 and from Rome to SFO at the end of July 2014. But is approximately $1100 a good price? Should I hold off and wait until Christmas or spring time? Any information is greatly appreciated!

You could try booking that as a multi city trip and see if it lowers the price any. IMO, the fare you're quoting is a very goodf rate for the dates you're looking at. End of June is considered peak travel season for Europe and fares tend to be higher.

Agree with vegas-guide,

We wanted to go to Italy this past summer, but the prices were too high... we ended up going to Berlin, Austria & Czech Republic...

We flew in & Out of Berlin the last 2 weeks of August on United and I paid $800 Round Trip. (bought about 8 months in advance)

Italy was about $1,250 each, which was too much for a single parent :)

Hope this helps!

I did a similar trip last March (SFO to Rome, Amsterdam to SFO) and paid almost $1000. Airfares have been going up and your traveling in the peak season. That price sounds great. If it's in your budget, go for it!

You can use the explore function on kayak to search your options - simply select SF as your departure city, your month and it will list the destinations/prices which you can filter by location.
