Confessions of a Baggage Handler!

Interesting read! What really happens to your luggage?

Excellent read thommo, I particularly like the baggage handler rant video at the end of the page. A classic.

Its a bit concerning about the fact they throw your luggage on purpose to see if they can break it.

I laughed that the expensive designer brand luggage breaks easier.

My luggage handle broke last trip but that was our fault or should I say the fault of Mrs Tommo...too much shopping and the luggage was far to heavy for the handle.

I would personally like to see baggage handlers that purposely damage and break people's property to be restrained & have electric shocks applied to their sensitive areas......what cretins.

I'm curious as to whether they handle crew luggage the same.

I can believe it as 2 out of 4 cases were broken on my last trip.

Datthecoast

I've come off plenty flights where crew baggage has been on the carousel. Most recently DXB to GLA.

Crew definitely do check luggage... if they're coming off a long-haul flight and have X amount of days/hours at the destination, you will see them at the carousel collecting their bags!
